    Description

97 years old, prison-made, low number
    Steel, 14" x 4-1/2"
Rusted and one extra hole at the top but still displays well
I wire-brushed the front and touched up the embossed numbers and letters for better visibility
Took pictures using the flash and also natural light
    Prison-made
All Washington license plates are made by inmates at the Walla Walla state penitentiary.
In 1923, the first plates were made in the converted jute mill at the prison.
Since then, including today, all Washington license plates are made at the prison.
