This listing is for a beautiful antique porcelain figural group with children, model #398. This is a very decorative and desirable porcelain figurine depicting a young boy and girl. The figurine has nice details and is painted in soft pastel tones. The base is well marked with two KPM factory trademark stamps and the 1913 Anniversary stamp. The KPM factory is known for using only the highest quality materials and their designs are exceptional.
The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
Measures 5" high, 6 1/2" wide and 3" deep. Weighs slightly over 1 pound.
KPM is the mark used by the Royal Porcelain Manufacture Berlin founded in 1751 by Wilhelm Caspar Wegely. The company was famous for the high quality of their production as well as the creativity of their designs. In 1925 they received the bronze medal in Paris and were awarded other medals in 1904 in St. Louis, in 1906 in Dresden, in 1910 at the World Exhibition in Brüssels and at the 1937 Exposition des Arts et Techniques la Vie Moderne in Paris.
