    Description

    Very lovely antique Schafer & Vater green jasperware bowl or small vase, measuring 3 3/4" tall with a 4" top opening diameter and a 2 1/2" base diameter.  Nice top scalloped form, lovely jasperware Victorian figures of a boy and girl amid scrolling and beading.  Numbered 4147 and incised 83 on base.
    Gustave Schafer (Schaefer) and Gunther Vater founded their porcelain factory in Volkstadt, Germany, in 1890.  The firm closed in 1962 and their records and moulds were destroyed.
    In nice antique condition with a very small hairline at top lip on interior.  Number at base is faded.
