The date stamp on the photograph is February 10, 1964, but the image dates to 1961.Bennett and Arlen collaborated on an album in 1961 entitled "Sings a String of Harold Arlen" consisting of 12 songs by Arlen and his various lyricists, Ted Koehler, Yip Harburg and Johnny Mercer, along with Truman Capote from their Broadway show, "House of Flowers" & one of his earliest song writing partners, Leo Robin.
Bennett worked directly with Arlen, who was also a singer to insure he made the composer happy with the result. The singer kept Arlen songs in his repertory through most of his career, "Let's Fall In Love", "Over the Rainbow", "It Was Written On The Stars" and of course, "I've Got The World On A String" were all part of his lifelong repertoire.
