    Rare Antique Bauhaus Blue Ceramic Candle Stick by Grete Heymann-Loebenstein Marks.
    Circa 1923-1933.  Germany.

    Glazed Earthenware of Turquoise-blue ambre.
    Grete Heymann-Loebenstein Marks (better known as Margaret Marks). She had to flee Nazi Germany, accused of being a degenerate. Forced to sell her factory and store for pennies on the dollar.
    Found refuge in England. This piece is before she left Germany.
    Apporox. 5” tall x 3 3/4” diameter at base x 3 3/8” diameter at top, 9.1 oz.
    Labelled underside with: Germany and an GHL mark.
    Great used antique condition. 2 small nicks top of bottom base. Other white spots are natural occurrences from glaze and firing. Normal wear from use and age.
