This is a very unusual and appealing white bisque vase by Rosenthal in Germany.   It was designed by Christa Goltz and she has signed this vase.  This is an eye-catching piece that is visually challenging.  It has layers of sections that grow in height as they twist around the vase.  It is a white matte torqued and stepped column that is as much a sculpture as a utilitarian vase.  My research suggests that this is from the late 1960-to early 1970 era.  This high quality bisque vase belongs in a collection of Rosenthal or in a modern home and it can be enjoyed for years to come.  This vase has no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs.  The vase is 6 1/2" tall and the square opening at the top is 2 1/4"  It is marked 4044/16 under the glaze on the bottom.
The inside of the vase is glazed and the bottom is glazed.  The outside is a matte finish.
